February 11th - 15th, 2027 at Great Wolf Lodge, Gurnee, IL - just north of the great city of Chicago!
RUNOW is more than a conference, it is a gathering of people who have chosen a different path. Created for new unschoolers, homeschoolers and worldschoolers, seasoned families, and grown young adults raised outside traditional systems, RUNOW brings together individuals seeking connection, inspiration, and belonging.
This gathering is designed to inspire, educate, and connect by offering guidance for those just beginning, continued growth for experienced families, and a place for grown alternatively educated individuals to build meaningful community with others who share similar lived experiences. Through open dialogue, shared wisdom, and exploration of ideas often overlooked by mainstream culture, RUNOW nurtures personal growth, healing, and collective support.
At its heart, RUNOW is about building a deeply rooted community where each person is valued, heard, and supported. Where learning flows in all directions.

Whether you are new to the home education realm or seasoned, this aspect of our gathering truly brings us all together. If you are brand new, it is a guarantee that you will unlearn, learn, grow and harness an incredible wealth of knowledge and experiences from our more seasoned families joining us. And those more experienced, when does the learning every stop? Not only will you be cherished for all you have to share, but it is our hope you too continue to unlearn, learn and grow whatever the stage of your journey you are at! The support you need, for which ever part of your journey you are at, you will find it at RUNOW.

Many of our graduates enter the world and realize just how outside-the-box their upbringing was. While they do amazing at acclimating to mainstream and succeeding beyond wildest dreams, they are still faced with the same unlearning, learning and growth that they have had their entire childhood. This is the chance for the early and young adulthood individuals, who were raised alternatively, to reconnect, share life's experiences, grow their community, network, grow, and continue to expand their circle of like-minded and similarly-raised individuals. A place to return to reconnect and celebrate together!

One of the deepest and most challenging parts of being the adult on this alternative education adventure is not only being open, able and willing to deschool, unlearn, learn and grow.... but to HEAL! Choosing this path for our families should never leave parents out of the mass equation of it all. After all, it is through our personal, spiritual, and deep-rooted healing that we are offering healing to our future generations. When we are willing to deep dive, true magic unfolds which only deepens connections and builds solid foundations. Let's explore this together and share our experiences!

So how does this all work?
So how does this all work?
RU Now has several scheduled talks, workshops, funshops, family events, age-specific events and more to endulge in over the course of three full days and two half days. All events are laid out in a funfilled schedule and families may come and go as much and as little as they like. But we will say, the more you participate, the more you will get out of it! In between sessions, there will be opportunities to enjoy the fun that Great Wolf Waterpark Lodge has to offer you as well as the opportunity to commune with new and old friends. First step would be to get your family registered for the conference, and second step to reserve your hotel room (click 'registration' page and 'hotel' page respectively for those next steps at the top right of this page, or below). As time nears and the schedule evolves, you will be invited to join a Slack group for all conference communication and sharing. We look forward to seeing you there!
